Introduction to boating techniques for launching and recovering a boat from a road trailer, everyday boat handling and the use of safety equipment.

1 day course, £100 per person. Minimum 2 persons.

This two day course provides the skills and background knowledge needed to drive a powerboat and is the basis of the International Certificate of Competence. It includes close quarter handling, high speed manoeuvres, man overboard recovery and collision regulations.

2 day course, £215 per person. Minimum 2 persons.

This is a half day assessment for experienced and already competent powerboat users who wish to obtain the formal level 2 qualification. 

½ day assessment, £100 per person

Candidates should be competent to the standard of Level 2 and this course is designed to teach up to the standard required to complete a short coastal passage by day. It is strongly recommended that the candidates hold a First Aid and VHF Operators certificate.

2 day course, £200 per person. Minimum 2 persons.

RYA ADVANCE POWER BOAT COURSE DATE 10/11 MARCH 2012
It includes navigation by day and night, weather and other aspects of skippering a small boat on more challenging passages in coastal waters.

2 day course, £275 per person.

Just a short note to say thank you for the Power Boat Course RYA Level 2.
From the moment that I first spoke to Terry on the phone, everyone there at Porth Daniel was friendly and accommodating. The instruction was superb, being pitched at just the right level, the theory being interspersed between plenty on practical hands on tuition.
Having only spent a short amount of time on a power boat before, I now have the skills to handle a boat and equally as important (or more so in my case) the confidence and ability to navigate my way through the Menai Straits safely…although time will tell on this one (hopefully no props left on the Platters)

The amount of knowledge and experience that Rob has is phenomenal, and I feel that I have gained a little bit of this.

I would highly recommend Porth Menai’s course to anyone.

Terry, as I mentioned on the phone, I am in the process of buying at boat and would like to store it at Porth Menai. I should be in a position to know this coming Friday what it will be…hopefully somewhere around the 27’ mark if all goes well. As soon as I know I will let you know, and hopefully you still have space available.
