A must for all Jet Ski users! You will be taught to handle the craft safely and competently and successful candidates will be awarded the RYA PWC Certificate of Proficiency license which is valid in most countries throughout the world.

Throughout the year we will be offering a number of RYA Personal Watercraft courses from our centre here in Menai Bridge. With the growing popularity of Jet Skis it's essential that users learn how to handle them competently and safely. This one day practical competence course covers all the skills you need. Bring your own Jet Ski.

The one day course covers:-

• Familiarisation of controls
• Launching and Recovery
• Safety equipment
• Control at slow speed
• Following a planned route
• Recognising potential collision situations and taking correct avoiding action
• Slalom exercise
• Towing and PWC
• Knots
• Personal equipment
• Collision avoidance
• Orientation at sea including subjects such as charts, buoys, tides and compass use *Weather forecasts
• Emergency equipment
• Courtesy to other water users
• Falling off and re-boarding
• Capsize and righting
• Control at speed

This is a practical course with a short classroom session at the beginning of the day. Successful students will be awarded the *RYA PWC license* Certificate of Proficiency which is valid in most countries.

PRICES:

• £145 for 1 person (with own ski)
• £245 for 2 persons (sharing same ski)
  

*Our ski is available to hire for the course at an additional cost of £85.

EQUIPMENT NEEDED:

• Jet ski
• Wet Suit or Dry Suit
• Buoyancy aid (must conform to EN 396) or you may borrow ours
• Suitable footwear ie deck shoes/old trainers
• change of clothing just in case!

Children aged between 12 and 16 can take the course. Their certificates will be endorsed to show that they must use PWC's only under the supervision of a responsible adult.

FOOD:

Either bring your own, or adjourn to the Liverpool Arms next door for a sandwich/hot meal
